A beautiful lazulite from Madagascar with such a deep blue coloration. This is a fairly rare stone that is related to sodalite and lapis lazuli. Considering the conflict issues surrounding lapis lazuli mining, lazulite is an excellent alternative option for those desiring to be more conscious about where their stones come from. The key difference is that lazulite lacks calcite and pyrite seen in lapis lazuli, but has the unique addition of magnesium and iron speckles across the surface of the stone.
