Madagascar is known for producing some of the most intensely colored rose quartz in the world. These blue rose quartz stones certainly are no exception. The deposits containing this unusually colored rose quartz were only recently discovered, and production still remains very limited with higher grade specimens being exceptionally rare. The vast majority of the material mined has significant mineral deposits and the color tends to be more of a bluish-gray. You can imagine how we felt when we first encountered these unique pieces that have such a beautiful violet blue color. If it weren’t for the few small deposits remaining on these stones, without a doubt they would be classified as the nearly flawless AAA grade. Yet even these minor imperfections can assist in identifying the origins of the stone and also help to verify its authenticity. These specimens have been hand polished to perfection by a world class lapidary in Madagascar offering a smooth feel across the stone. Definitely a very special find that would be ideal for any serious crystal collector or someone looking to incorporate natural elements into their home or office.
